DPBF at the Opening of the New 14th & 15th Kindergartens of Nea Ionia

The Dragnis Foundation was present at the inauguration of the new, modern building that will house the 14th and 15th Kindergartens of Nea Ionia, Volos, attended by the Foundation’s founder, Mr. Paris Dragnis, and its Director, Ms. Eleni Dragnis.

The new school facility, spanning a total area of 450 sq. m., was built at Lambraki Square, on the site of the former Nea Ionia Police Station, and represents a project of particular importance for the local educational community and families in the area.

Its construction was made possible through the support and contributions of private individuals and businesses, including the Dragnis Foundation, which provided a €100,000 donation, making a substantial contribution to the creation of a modern, safe and suitable educational environment for children.

The blessing ceremony was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Ignatios of Demetriasin the presence of representatives of the local authorities, donors, members of the educational community, parents and students.

During the event, the founder of the Dragnis Foundation, Paris Dragnisspoke with great emotion about the opportunity to give back to his hometown, as well as the broader philanthropic work that the Foundation aspires to develop:

“For me, it is a joy to be able to give back to my homeland. As you know, we are preparing the Bank of Greece building to house a foundation that will provide scholarships to students, support children who cannot receive treatment in Greece, as well as large families. God has blessed me with children and grandchildren and has allowed me to reach a point in life that I never expected.”

For her part, the Director of the Dragnis Foundation, Eleni Dragnis, noted:

“For us, today is not only about the completion of an important project. It marks the beginning of a series of initiatives that serve the mission of the Dragnis Foundation. We believe that investing in education is an investment in the future of our community. We want to stand alongside the younger generation, creating opportunities and supporting initiatives with a meaningful and lasting social impact.”

The handover of the new school building is particularly significant at a time when supporting children, families and the younger generation represents one of the most important challenges facing Greek society.
