Strengthening Greece\u2013Bulgaria Ties Through Historical Memory<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Dragnis Public Benefit Foundation Honoured the Ancestral Roots of the Dragni Family at the Anniversary Events in Pomorie. The Foundation was represented by its Director, Eleni Dragni, at the commemorative events marking 120 years since the burning of Anchialos, present-day Pomorie, and the first exodus of the inhabitants of the historic city. Her presence represented the Foundation and honoured the ancestral roots of its CEO, Paris Dragni. The Foundation\u2019s participation in the commemorative events was a meaningful act of remembrance and respect for the history of the Greek community of Eastern Rumelia, as well as for the enduring ties that connect Anchialos with Nea Anchialos in Magnesia, Greece.<\/p>\n

Ms. Dragni attended the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy held at the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, presided over by His Eminence Arseniy, Metropolitan of Sliven, in the presence of His Eminence Ignatios, Metropolitan of Demetrias and Almyros, as well as representatives of the local authorities, organisations, and a large congregation of worshippers.<\/p>\n

It took part in the cultural events entitled \u201cMeeting of the Descendants of Anchialos,\u201d which highlighted the shared historical and cultural heritage of the two regions through music, traditional dances, and activities dedicated to preserving their collective memory.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ms. Dragni extended an official invitation to both the Mayor of Pomorie and the Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria to attend the inauguration of the Dragni Charitable Foundation, which is scheduled to open its doors in Volos in 2027, housed in the historic former Bank of Greece building.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

On the sidelines of the commemorative events, the Director of the Foundation held a meeting with the Mayor of Pomorie, Ivan Alexiev, the Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria, Marios Lymberopoulos, and the President of the Greek-Bulgarian Association \u201cAnchialos Pomorie,\u201d Stefka Alikova. The meeting took place in a particularly warm and constructive atmosphere, reaffirming the excellent relations between the two regions and their shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation. Discussions focused on opportunities to establish new channels of communication and collaboration, with particular emphasis on culture, historical memory, educational initiatives, and joint projects that may be developed with the forthcoming launch of the Foundation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
